The NEW BALTIC DANCE festival says NO to “Nemuno Aušra” at the Ministry of Culture.

Lithuanian culture is in danger – the Ministry of Culture has been entrusted to the “Nemuno Aušra” party, whose actions do not reflect democratic and fundamental human values. Unfortunately, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda and the ruling party, led by Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene, did not prevent this decision.

The festival, together with the entire Lithuanian cultural community, does not agree that this party should lead the Ministry of Culture. We stand for truth, humanity, and respect, which this party sorely lacks.

Culture is the foundation of democratic values. Entrusting the management of the Ministry of Culture to a political force that openly denies, distorts, or belittles these values is dangerous not only for the cultural sector but also for the integrity of our society.

We invite everyone to join the warning strike that will take place on October 5.
