BIG PULSE DANCE ALLIANCE

The festival New Baltic Dance is a member of the Big Pulse Dance Alliance a vibrant partnership of European festivals and institutions united by a shared purpose: with a passionate belief in the potential of dance to share stories, create powerful experiences and connect with individuals and communities, Big Pulse is dedicated to strengthening and expanding the reach of contemporary dance.

At the core of the Big Pulse are three main aims: to support artists and diversify dance programming on the big stages of Europe; to bring dance to new spaces, reaching diverse audiences and increasing accessibility; and to build a lively network of European dance festivals, ensuring a sustainable and vibrant dance scene that brings artists and audiences together to share exceptional dance experiences.

AEROWAVES

Lithuanian Dance Information Center, which organizes the festival New Baltic Dance, is the representative of Lithuania in the international contemporary dance network Aerowaves. The network identifies the most promising new work by emerging dance artists – each year the Aerowaves network selects 20 of the most promising emerging choreographers in Europe. Aerowaves promotes their work for a year, creating opportunities to perform with the network’s partners.

“Participation in the Aerowaves network gives young choreographers a unique opportunity to present their work to professionals from 33 European countries who participate in the selection process. For those who want to tackle their international career, participation in the Aerowaves program should be one of the priorities”, says Gintarė Masteikaitė, Director of the Lithuanian Dance Information Center.
