Ayelen Parolin (Belgium) – ZONDER
ATTENTION. Spectators arriving late will not be admitted to the performance.
Duration: 50 min.
ZONDER is the latest work by choreographer Ayelen Parolin, looking at the unpredictability and failures of life through humour.
“Against the grain of a society driven by reason and Cartesian thought, where we endeavour to attach a goal, a meaning, a beginning and an end to everything, I wanted to create an ode to illogicality and uselessness. A desire to free yourself from the need to find coherence, an explanation, in order to better give voice to the unpredictable and to simply welcome “what is” – without wanting to change it or render it meaningful.
A way also to touch on “living” on stage, that which can elude us, that which we are unable to imagine.
We are always running away from failure, but to fail can be a new beginning, a new way to think. It gives a lot of opportunities. And if we laugh at failure, we become stronger” – Ayelen Parolin.
Choreographer and dancer Ayelen Parolin lives and works in Brussels. Born in Argentina, she came to Europe in 2000 and trained in Montpellier. She then embarked on a career as a performer, collaborating with Mathilde Monnier, Jean-Francois Peyret, Mossoux-Bonté and Alexandra Bachzetsis.
From 2017 to 2021, she is associated artist with Théâtre de Liège and Charleroi danse, Centre chorégraphique de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. Since 2022, she has been an associate artist of Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles.
